"Hello, Jack!"
My cousin called and said that she felt sad. I asked, "What happened?"
"A warning letter was given. However, it is good to remind me to work harder. I do admit that I have lost my focus in my job."
I did encourage her to continue working hard in her firm. Then she told me that she just wanna do something different. "I felt useless when I found myself not doing things which I desire." She said
After a long conversation, I could see that she wanna do something different in her life, rather than working in the same environment for long time.
Then she started to comment on my videos, "Jack, I do not really like your MV. Why is the whole video only about the model? I felt that the more I watch the video, the more I dislike the model."
In my mind, I was laughing. She might be feeling jealous of that beautiful model. Therefore, she spoke something nasty against her. Though my cousin's comment was not against my video work, I could see she dislike that model. Then I replied, "Hence, you find it unacceptable. Some people might be having the same comment as yours. However, I received good comments from most people as compared to the majority."
"Is it?" My cousin was surprised.
"Like you said, I wanna do something different. I wish to make a breakthrough in videography. No matter what people comment about my MV, I do not really bother. It is because I just wanna try something different. To you, it's a lame MV. For others, it is a wonderfully made MV. SONY Center in Kota Kinabalu saw this MV and they were amazed. That is why now I am engaged with them in one of their projects."
"SONY center?"
"Cousin, not all people will be satisfied with our work. For example, you and many people may like 'Avatar' the movie, not all people may like it. You get what I mean? When you are working in your firm, you wanna try something new. Do all people satisfy with your concept? Well, not all. However, it still goes the same. I just do what i need to do - doing something different. Then people will notice your existence. I believe this is what you wanna do in your firm, isn't it? To do something something."
Our God is a god who always does something different. That is why he touches so many lives and people are redeemed through Jesus Christ. Though it is only a way to salvation (i.e Jesus Christ), people encountered Jesus differently (different situations, different time). That is why we do not understand how the work of God does magnificently.
In conclusion, I believe we, as children of God, ought to do something different too.
Ecclesiastes 11:5
"As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother's womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things."
She was satisfied with the video clip which I had done for her. That was an important clip for her. She needed to bring it back to Australia to show God's ministry in the work of the Filipinos throughout Sabah. I was touched by her passion for Jesus, that she had started to serve Jesus Christ at age of 20s. Until now, she has no regret serving Jesus.
After I had done the mission video clip for Canon Sylvia Jeanes, we had a long conversation. She began to ask about my situation. She could see that I was spiritually tired and depressed. "Worrying about your future, Jack?"
"Ya, Ibu. I need to be true to you. Actually I was still finding out who I am. Sometimes I was wondering who I am. And I seriously question whether God still be with me. Though I still worship God, I still praise God, I still love God, am I choosing the right way?"
She smiled at me, said "Jack, seriously speaking. You are a potential person with special gift from God. From the video clip which you had done for me and God, I truly witness that God has given you a very important gift which God will use it mightily in the future generation."
"Am I on the right track with God? Do you think God will bless my journey?" I continued to ask.
"Jack, no one will know except you and God. Let me figure it out for you. You said you do not know who you are right now? I should say you are trying to find a way to achieve your goal - the ultimate purpose for glorifying God in your life. You are still finding a way to break through, and accomplish what you desire to do for God. Currently, you cannot find it; therefore you are tired and depressed. I believe God will show you the way.
Jack, do not give up on what God has called you to do. You are not on the wrong path, as long as you fix your eyes on Jesus. You believe that this is what God has planned for you, go for it. No matter what people said about you, only you know. They will not understand. I said again, as long as you focus on God's kingdom, I am always supporting you.
I only worry one thing about you, Jack. As far as I concerned, I knew that you are worrying about money to stay survived. Believe in God, and never lose hope. Focus on God in every way you do. And God will provide what you need. As you can see right now, God has faithfully answered your prayer by giving you a camcorder. I am afraid that you may lose your vision because I believe right now you are in desperate of money. Remember that you do everything for God, showing good deeds, presenting Gospel to people, and focus on God, you will be guided by God.
Just as I said before, showing good deeds is one of the ways to reach out the lost souls. Through your video business, show your good testimony to others. Be the light of the world. As it was written in the bible 'let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.' Jack, I am excited to see how God will use you in society. I earnestly bless you that God will lead you to where you desire to glorify God. May God bless you."
Hebrews 12:2
"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
My dear disciples (Gabriel Pang and Jack Mok) were asking me, “Jack, would you not be sad?”
I thoughtfully answered them,
“Though I am sad, I must show a good example to you all. Since I had made this decision, I shall never turn back. I shall never return and ask for a second chance.”
“Never will I shed a single tear. I shall move forward and live on my life to the fullest.”
“Since this is the fact, it is useless to weep. Whether we laugh or cry, the fact still remained. I shall have no regret!”
“Since we had written this story, we should accept it with sincerity and humility.”
“I am your leader. I had shown you my mistakes. Do not follow my mistakes. Learn from it.”
“Leader is supposed to lead you closer to God. Mistakes which leaders had made can bring teachings to his disciples.”
“God will guide me even better in time of wounds. I will not fall, because I fix my eyes on Jesus once again.”
“Never return back pitifully to the people whom you used to desire with. When they saw your faith, they will respect you even more. They will learn from your strength and endurance.”
“Mark my word. Do not follow my mistake. Always put Jesus first in your life.”
“Things around you can cause you disappointment. People around you can cause you to fall. Do not put them first in your life. God… You must put God first as your first priority of life.”
“God never disappoint us. God never make us fall. When we humbly come to Him, He will lift us up. God promises to love those who put Him first in their life.”
“With God, you lack nothing. With people, you lack love. With things, you lack security.”
“I confess to you that I put the wrong focus in my life. Therefore, I had my fall terribly and miserably. However, I thank God that I manage to set my focus back to God again. Do not repeat my mistakes in your life. Be strong in Jesus Christ. Amen?”
Gabriel Pang and Jack Mok received a lot from this lesson. In the end, Jack Mok concluded,
“I can see that you are much joyful than before.”
Hebrews 13:5
"because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
