Chapter 135: Into The World Of Videography

"Jack, come and visit our SONY exhibition in Wisma Merdeka." Mark, the boss of SONY Center called.

Last Sunday, my dear and I went to Wisma Merdeka after church service. Feeling excited, wondering how's the exhibition going; believing that Kota Kinabalu will be having a breakthrough in videography; hoping to inspire many people doing videography after viewing my SONY advertisement.

When we were there, there were promoting some SONY DSLR and camcorder, with some models for shooting sample. During that time, I felt that someone was looking at me. As I was turning my head...

Crystal Eve? She is a friend of mine. She is a popular model in Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Lumpur. Asking her, "What are you doing here?"

"I am the ambassador of SONY center Mega Avit." She replied.

Wow! I could not believe God really used Christians to expand the territory of videography in Kota Kinabalu. Hoping God will do miracles into the world of videography. God is awesome as always.

As I was chatting with a group of SONY workers. Someone, one by one, came to ask, "Are you Jack Wong, the videographer?"

I was pretty surprised that they knew me by name. Humbly, I got to know them better and communicate in a passionate way. Some videographers had worked more than ten years, some were new especially me. The experienced videographers were very impressed with my video. I was even shocked when they said,

"We view your blogspot already. Regularly we are interested to know what you're up to in videography. You have one of the youngest and newest videographer who starts to do anything (of course, no pornography, nothing which sins against God) in videography. This is really impressive. Many people have noticed your video work."

Some had asked, "How do you manage to take other events besides wedding? You are just a new guy and we are working for long years. We have tried our best to engage in these kinds of projects. However, we could not be able to have a chance."

Some also asked, "How do you manage to think of ideas which can make great videos. Good inspirations for us."

Some even asked, "Wanna join us as part of our team? Hence, we experienced and professional videographers will be a great team in future."

God, I wanna thank You for Your grace and love. I am really touched when both the experienced and new videographers recognized me as a professional one. Without You, I knew this day will not come. You inspired the new ones, not me. As for the experienced ones, I will not join them as a team. God, I wanna be an outstanding one who can shine in this city in Your Name. I wanna remain as myself "Jack's Stuff". Wishing my dream comes true, and also believing this will happen, by hearing people saying,

"Jack's Stuff is a Christian company.
Jack honors God through videography."

God, You have given me many golden chances to enter into the society
so that Your name will be glorified.

letting them know You saved my soul and change my life.

Chapter 128: Losing The Golden Moment

After watching the FIFA, we drove back home. On the way back to home, my brother said, "When a chance is given, do not lose it. it is because it will be hard to obtain it back again."

I remained silent. He continued,

"Do you still remember Fandi Ahmad? The most popular soccer player in Singapore? He is a foolish person who gave up his opportunity to enter into Ajax club when he was called to go."



"Ajax club is a UK soccer organization, and he was selected?" I surprisingly, acclaimed.

"Not only he was selected, he was given a three months training under professional soccer trainers for FREE! If he was really not qualified, at least he earned the three months of professional training, it was not a bad thing, is it?"

I agreeably nodded, thinking if I were Fandi, surely I will strive for my goal.

He, with disappointment, said, "Look! When he was chosen to go to Ajax club, Singapore did not want him to go because Fandi indeed was really an excellent player. He was born to have this talent. However, he answered by saying 'I belong to Singapore, I would rather play for Singapore only.' During that time, it was a great news in Singapore saying Fandi was a loyal person, saying Fandi is the glory of Singapore. Hence, look at him right now. Who cares for him now? Not even famous, not even successful, and what can Singapore give him as compared to Ajax club? No one remembers him now."

That was sad to hear that. When we have dreams in our life, and we wanna pursue it. Yet someones who are closed to us, will hinder our goal. When we wanna pursue our dreams, they will say we are selfish. What about them? Are they not selfish too? Once we lose our golden moment, it is totally over. When God calls us to do something which people do not understand, will we be hindered by those who are closed to us?



God's purpose placed in our heart, we gonna fulfill. Our life must be more than this. We are not ordinary ones. I will continue to pursue my dream and fulfill God's purpose. And I prayed...

Job 36:5
"God is mighty, but does not despise men; he is mighty, and firm in his purpose."

Last thing I wanna say, if Fandi was to give glory to Singapore, he SHOULD in fact joined Ajax club. If he was given a chance playing soccer in the worldwide channel, and the world recognized him, then I will totally agree by saying...

"Fandi is the glory of Singapore."

Chapter 126: Why Feeling Pressurized?

During Vivit's wedding, everyone was watching the video with full of sensation. When the video had finished, many came to ask me about videography. And some even asked me how I manage to shoot the whole scenario by myself alone. "The video clip shows us that it could be more than two videographers. How many videographer are there?" In fact, it is true. God only used one person to shoot the whole wedding event.

Then one young lady said, "Jack, I am impressed. You indeed inherit a God-given talent. Hence I believe you must be enjoying your work when you are video-shooting."

"It is true that I enjoyed my work. yet I do have pressure." Smiling as I replied.

Feeling surprised "Why feeling pressurized? You have the skills already."

"Allow me to explain... Though I praise God for giving me the talent, I still have pressure. The reason lies on people's big day which is WEDDING. To them, it is a precious day. They paid for the videography because they want their DAY to be remembered. And they place their GREAT TRUST in my hand. And how can I ruin their great wedding? We, who work in this field, will feel the same. We must find the best moments to capture. And forever the couple will remember the event, whenever they see the video. Though we have the skills, everything in the wedding event appeared only ONCE, not twice. Once the best moments are gone, it's gone forever."

As I was explaining, she nodded in agreement. I continued,

"That is why I still need God to help me in every video clip. I trust God. Every video business I pray hard, I must humble myself to allow God to reign in the video business. I will always pray when I do the video-shooting, such as 'God, help me to find a great angle.' I must always remind myself it is not me to make the wonderful video, but God Himself. With God's help, that is why, so far, every customer is satisfied with their wedding video. Not only I depend on God, I must also do every video clip in love as if I am serving God. Not only to satisfy every customer's desire, it must be pleasing to God too. God tells us to show our deeds to others, so that His name will be glorified. God gave me this talent; therefore, I must use it in the name of Jesus and glorify our God. To God be the glory!"

The lady, including the people around her who were listening to me, were amazed by God's wonderful work. Together they praised God, and asked me, "Jack, where is your namecard? We will help you to promote...

your videography."

Chapter 89: God, Have Mercy

When there is a situation where the team's spirit is not united, how do you feel?

Let me confess one thing: yesterday night, during the practice, I was very frustrated. I confess my attitude and behavior were untoleratable. I know people cannot stand me yesterday. Therefore, before I start to write this post, I wanna say that God does not delight in my attitude too. I have my wrong too. Or else, people might criticise me, saying "This Jack says as if he has no wrong at all." Hence, forgive me for I do not know what I am doing, God.

Why was I frustrated? Here are the reasons:

Some people in the worship team were trying to be leaders. Some thought they were very talented, so they were not teachable. Some, who did wrong, did not even know they were wrong so they will point to others and say "Ah ya. You don't know they are like that?" or "I cannot stand them." Some thought they were very smart and good, so they kept pointing out others' problems. Some even tried to argue unnecessary things so time was wasted. Some even make the final decision without asking "Is it ok?". In the end, some went home because their parents had come to fetch them home. Why? Unnecessary time was wasted, so the practice was incomplete.

Someone asked me, "Jack, you look unhappy. Is it because your composed song 'Forever You reign' is not the response song?"


This is not the thing which makes me frustrated. If my composed song is cancelled in the concert, it's fine with me. Because it is composed for my God Jesus Christ, not for the church. Am I writing this song for the people? God knows my worship. Why should I be frustrated? Am I worried about the concert? The answer is "NO".

I wrote "God, have mercy." in Facebook status. I am not pointing to the concert. Do you think the concert will be lousy? Certainly not! All are skillful people.

Yet why I pray for God's mercy? I am pointing to our worship team. I pray for God's mercy upon our pride, our foolishness, our stubborness, our life.

Fools, do you think that when the concert is performed wonderfully, God will delight in our worship? Are you glorifying God? No! You are glorifying yourselves. Do you think you are a skilled musician, then God will be pleased? No! Even if the whole world says it is a wonderful concert, God will find it disgusting!

Why? Because of your own intelligence, your stubborness, your PRIDE!
Why do I pray for God's mercy? When the concert is over, you will continue to show your pride in your life! As if you are a genius! As if you already know how to worship God? God detests that! Where is your HEART OF WORSHIP?


Oh God, have mercy on us.
I cannot change this. God, hear my cry. Change the worship team, turn their heart back to the heart of worship. God, forgive us for we do not know what we are doing. We divided ourselves and do not unite in the body of Christ.

Luke 23:34
"Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." And they divided up his clothes by casting lots."

Note: If anyone in the worship team is reading this post now, and think "No. I am not like that." Obviously, it says about you, because your pride makes you say that. Ask God to vindicate us.

Chapter 83: Affirmation

I would like to introduce my worship song: Affirmation. It will be performed in the Youth Live Concert on 12 September 2009.

How does this song come?

It happened when I was serving in Church of Our Holy Savior, Labuan. I remembered I was really down at that time. I picked up my guitar and start to do the tabbing. My emotion was very hurt and sorrowful, as I was playing guitar. Then God showed me how wonderful He is in my life. He even showed me how much He had done for me. His love, His grace, His guidance and His comfort showed me that God indeed raised me up as His own child. He lets my heart be still. He makes me secured whenever I was facing problems. The most important thing is that He lets me remember that He is my God.

In times of hardship and sorrow, God will reveal to us who He is. He is the Great Lord God Almighty. Slowly, I began to know how great my God is. Suddenly, at that moment, He gave me melodies and lyrics, and I started to sing out a new song. Once again, He affirmed my faith and hope in Him, telling me that He will be always with me in whatever I do. Therefore, I named this song "Affirmation".

He even remind me of my goal: Searching for the Greater Glory of God. That is to live for Jesus Christ, and witness Jesus Christ! Support my worship song, and give me the best encouragement. Therefore, I will continue to move forward for my God, my Savior!

Chapter 79: Life is Just a Breath

Yesterday, after my Missiology exam, I was online in the Facebook. As I was reading some messages from my friends, a chatting box popped out suddenly.

“Pray for Connie Yap.”

I was pretty curious about this.
Therefore, I typed, “???”

It replied back, “She met a car accident yesterday. Now she is in the comma, lying in hospital.”

I was totally astonished! I just had a chat with her few days ago. She said she will be one of Jack's Stuff Models. And she is lying in hospital?

Today, I went to check her profile in Facebook. Guess what? She's GONE!

Then I said, “Life is just a breath.”

Words of Sorrow
Readers, Connie might be leaving this world with many things undone. She is a young girl who just started her college life. I believe she wanna do something which is meaningful in her life. However, who knows she is now…?

I just wanna say that you may be lucky that you are still alive now. Do not ever think, “Ah! Don’t worry, we are still young. There is still plenty of time in our life.” I wanna say that death does not limit itself by time. It comes in anytime, anywhere and anyhow. Death is just a breath away.

Who sustains your life? We really do need to appreciate the life which God has given to us. We often forget that our life is in God’s hand. However, we do not let God handle our life. We always choose to live on our own without God’s guidance. Though we say God is the first in our life, yet our actions do not reflect that at all. If God is in our life, then… what are you waiting for? Put down your meaningless life and put on Christ.

RIP - Connie
Cherish every single day of your life. Live out your life as if everyday is your last day. Do something more meaningful. Live your life purposefully. Live it to the full. And it comes to bring Glory to our Lord God Almighty. Do not waste your stupid time in doing all sorts of meaningless things.

Start planning for your future.

My life, though short and nothing, will bring Glory to God in the future.

Chapter 15: Turn Your Eyes upon Jesus

Written on 29 October 2008


Although I may receive much criticism from people, I will continue to glorify Jesus. I will focus my life on Jesus, and do whatever pleases Him. Let me tell you one thing - Life is NOT living to please people.

Different people have different expectations and different standards.

If we choose to follow what pleases the people, we normally receive a GREAT disappointment in the end. The greatest failure for people is to please everyone. Impossible! So take note of this,

“Do whatever pleases God. Think of what God will think of us. Our life is for the glory of God.”



Just remember that we only follow what pleases Jesus, and set our goal to achieve Jesus’s standards. Only Jesus’s standard never change and remain in the holiness. People are not perfect, yet lots of defects. Jesus answered my prayer by using the following Bible verses:

Hebrews 10: 33 - 36
“Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated. You sympathized with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised.”


Though many people may insult or criticise me, I will not lose my confidence in God. Whenever I try my best to make a breakthrough for the sake of Jesus, I received nonsense from other people. All I do is to glorify Jesus.

To be a great and successful man, criticism is one of the packages in life. This is the price we need to pay. Why do people hate me, even criticize me wherever I am? The reason is… People are not perfect. Do they understand what my purpose is? Even if they do understand, will they listen? Do the people know about their life purpose too? If the people really do, they will never criticize in the first time.


In fact, I still love my enemies. This is my sincere words in my heart.

Therefore, I focus my life on Jesus, do whatever will please Jesus. The church and I are in the same path with me – to glorify Jesus. I believe the church feels the same too.


However, I wanna praise Jesus that even though I receive hatred and criticism from others, the church encourages me and build me up. Though some people may be against me, but I have a church who supports me - the church that chooses to believe me.

I love my church very much.
