Chapter 79: Life is Just a Breath

Yesterday, after my Missiology exam, I was online in the Facebook. As I was reading some messages from my friends, a chatting box popped out suddenly.

“Pray for Connie Yap.”

I was pretty curious about this.
Therefore, I typed, “???”

It replied back, “She met a car accident yesterday. Now she is in the comma, lying in hospital.”

I was totally astonished! I just had a chat with her few days ago. She said she will be one of Jack's Stuff Models. And she is lying in hospital?

Today, I went to check her profile in Facebook. Guess what? She's GONE!

Then I said, “Life is just a breath.”

Words of Sorrow

Readers, Connie might be leaving this world with many things undone. She is a young girl who just started her college life. I believe she wanna do something which is meaningful in her life. However, who knows she is now…?

I just wanna say that you may be lucky that you are still alive now. Do not ever think, “Ah! Don’t worry, we are still young. There is still plenty of time in our life.” I wanna say that death does not limit itself by time. It comes in anytime, anywhere and anyhow. Death is just a breath away.

Who sustains your life? We really do need to appreciate the life which God has given to us. We often forget that our life is in God’s hand. However, we do not let God handle our life. We always choose to live on our own without God’s guidance. Though we say God is the first in our life, yet our actions do not reflect that at all. If God is in our life, then… what are you waiting for? Put down your meaningless life and put on Christ.

RIP - Connie

Cherish every single day of your life. Live out your life as if everyday is your last day. Do something more meaningful. Live your life purposefully. Live it to the full. And it comes to bring Glory to our Lord God Almighty. Do not waste your stupid time in doing all sorts of meaningless things.

Start planning for your future.

Psalms 39:5
“You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before You. Each man’s life is but a breath.”

My life, though short and nothing, will bring Glory to God in the future.

Chapter 78: Mama’s Cooking

Yesterday, I went to find my mama because she was in KK.

This is my mama's cooking

I have been eating lots of junk food outside during these few days. I was already really frustrated about the cooking gas issue. I share the price of the cooking gas, yet in the end, it was finished in less than three months!! My friends (four girls) who were staying besides my apartment, cooked at home also. One of the girls asked me, “Why are you not cooking at home?”

I said, “No more gas. Tell me how long it can last in your apartment. I believe it will be consumed quickly.”

“Ours… I think it is about half a year. We always cook at home.”

What the…?
Even more frustrated!!

Four girls can use up to six months. As for three boys, it was finished within three months? What kind of food did my housemates cook? Steamboat everyday? I really have nothing to say.

I do not mind to pay the gas. I do mind that my housemate had been taking for granted on the share of cooking gas. He is not considerate. Well, I do not mind paying another time of cooking gas. However, I hope that my housemates will really know how to use it wisely. I hope he will not waste it on cooking “steamboat” daily.

Therefore, I have to eat junk food these few days. Well, it’s unhealthy if we are having meals outside. It costs me so much. I wanna spend less. However, what can I do?

My mama

That is why I miss my mama’s cooking. When my mama was in KK, I would surely return home to have meal with my mama. I went to buy food with her in the wet market. I felt loved and touched when my mama, choosing vegetables or meats, looked at me and say, "Jack, I know you seldom eat this vegetable, I will cook for you.", "Jack, I will buy some ribs and cook the style which you like.", "I know you seldom eat good food, that is why mama is here."

My mama is so good to me. Thanks mama.
I thank God for my mama.
I love you, mama.

Her food is always cooked in a healthy way, and more nutrients in it. And it contains motherly love. This is what I called “Mama’s Cooking”.

I hope the cooking gas will be ordered as soon as possible, so I can start to cook at home again.

Proverbs 23:25
"May your father and mother be glad; may she who gave you birth rejoice!"

Chapter 77: Game Freak

John PSD shouted, “Wah! Pro oh, you!”

Last time, I brought John to Asia City. I wanted him to accompany me playing my favorite game – Street Fighters III. View the video below.

It’s been a long time I didn’t play this game. Hence, no one actually knows that I used to be a Game Freak during my childhood.

I started to go to arcade centre when I was 12 years old. How did I start my first video game? Super Mario Bros

Me and my brothers are very good in playing game. When you give us a few times to try a new game, we will get adapted very fast. And we will complete the game within a few hours unless it is a RPG game (e.g. Final Fantasy, Devil may cry…etc). By playing video games, it helps to improve our reactions of thought and accuracy of doing things. No joke! This is the strength of those who play well in video games.

My token (fifty cents) is very long-lasting when I play a game. I can finish many video games in just one token such as Street Fighters, Metal Slug and others. It can take hours to finish by using a token only.

I know that it is bad to get addicted in video games. Yet I have learnt one thing well from this experience. I understand those youth who love video games and their struggle of addicting video games. It will be easier to get along with them. To say the truth, sometimes playing video games can really reduce our stress and pressure. Video game can be my good companion during my stressed time.

For those who love video game, you are not alone. I love video games too. But do not let it affect your studies and your health.

Colossians 3:7
"You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived."

Next game, I gonna try Street Fighters IV

Chapter 76: Born As An Evangelist

“Only Jesus will give us the true freedom.”

Last Friday, I had a preaching exam to 2pm. My lecturer only had one comment, saying “He is still a step nearer to evangelist. If he continues to preach like that, he will be born as an evangelist soon.”

I was very touched when he said that. I really love to preach the Word of God. This is one of God’s Glory – to proclaim the good news to the people. My life is changed because of Jesus. Jesus is the Word of God. I know it is extremely serious to preach about Jesus. I always take opportunities. I know I need to improve my articulation. This is to prepare me to speak the good news to the world in the future.

I will have one more chance to preach. One more preaching exam on this coming Thursday. I will grab hold of every opportunity to preach about Jesus Christ. Yet next week is not an easy week for me. I wanna pass all the exams and bring Glory to God. After the exams, I will need to hand up another 5 more assignments during the first week of August. May God show His path to me!

The Power of God's Word

The time is near, I know I will do what I need to do. No one will accept my vision, yet God will understand. I will follow Him through the end. God, You have placed a heart of preaching in me. You had showed how great You are in my life. I wanna preach to the whole world about Your Glory. Through my life, You have showed me the wonder of Your name. May Your name shine in my life so people can see You in my life.

Preaching about Jesus is the duty of every Christian. I believe my goal will lead me to a stage where I can stand in front of the world and proclaim Jesus is my Lord, my Savior.” One day, I know this will happen if I continue to pursue God-given vision. God, You always bless me.

Lift me up God. I will glorify Your Holy Name!

1 Corinthians 9:14
"In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel."

Chapter 75: A Second Chance

This afternoon, I was studying at McDonald in Api Api Center. While I was concentrating on my study – History of Christianity, suddenly I heard a loud voice from an uncle.

“GET OUT!!” (In Malay)

I turned my head immediately, seeing a Filipino kid standing besides me. He held up his dirty hands and said nothing. However, I could understand that he was asking me for money. His face looked sorrowful. People around me were thinking that he was pretending to be sorrowful. I felt insecure.

In my mind, I was thinking “Are my things safe?”
(Thinking that he was a thief)

The uncle (Malay) behind him kept shouting, You dirty boy! Get out of here! Don’t ask any money here!”

The kid moved away, when I was about to dig into my pocket. Then I saw another uncle (Chinese) giving the kid RM1, patting on his shoulder. The kid was very happy and he got out of the place.

Then I suddenly saw a picture in my mind - Jesus helping the poor. I felt regretted because I should have actually given money to this kid. Jesus always told us to love people including Community as well. But why do we think of ourselves first when the poor or the sick come to seek help from us?

Maybe because of the incident: Sony Ericsson S500i(Click the words see what actually happened)

The uncle continued to criticize, “This guy is a thief. They only know how to steal and ask for money. If you place your phone on the table, they will immediately steal it away without your notice!!”

Is it their fault to steal? Is it their nature to be thieves? If you were in their shoes, how do you feel? Whose fault is that? It is THEIR PARENTS!!! It is those irresponsible people who only know about sex intercourse and never care for the consequence of having babies!!! Do you think those kids wanna live like that? Wouldn’t they be jealous to those kids who are properly treated?

These poor kids were “like sheep, have gone astrayed”(Isaiah 53:6). No one guides them to be good. No one feeds them properly. Therefore, they live in SIN. Who taught them to steal? They were FORCED to steal because they need to survive too. Who will employ them? Everyone will think they are thieves; no one will employ.

God loves all the rejected ones. He even gives them a second chance to turn back to Him. Therefore, He sent His son, Jesus Christ to redeem us. Believing in Jesus Christ is our second chance. Jesus Christ helps the poor, heals the sick, and care for the needy. What about us? Our God loves everyone including the poor and sick. If I were given a second chance to give money to that same kid, I will give.

If you were to ask them this,
“When you were given a second chance to turn into good, and you will not live sorrowfully, will you accept it?”

Their answer will be “YES!!”

Jude 1:21
"Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life."

Chapter 74: One Condition

Jack, are you asleep? Sorry, I need your help urgently.”

Last Friday, during the midnight, I received a call from a youth. He used to be my youth in Labuan. He is now studying in KK. His name is Renee. (Huh? Can this name be applied in both genders?)

Readers, it’s not Renee Gan. It is a “HE”.

At that very hour, I was extremely tired. And I was frustrated because I just finished my tiring Friday. Previous chapter has told you that I was exhausted during History class. I thought I could be able to sleep soundly on my bed. But who knows… I was waken by a CALL?!

WHAT THE…?!

Anyway, I still got to listen to his needs.
“Hey! Renee! How are you? What do you want?”
“Jack, I am sorry. I actually lived alone in Kingfisher. And I had spent all my money due to school things…”

Before he finished his sentence, I interrupted (half asleep)
“Oh… Ok, so you need some money, huh?”
“Ya! Ya! Ya! Can you help me? I need to spend on food for this month.”

“Hey! My friend, you had been losing contact with me for more than 2 years. I thought you miss me, and wanna find me yam cha. But who knows the first thing you find me in KK is to borrow money?
I spoke with a strong disappointment.

“Sorry, Jack. I am busy with my schoolwork. I had actually asked my mama for money already. I guess I cannot ask her twice on the same month. I do not want to trouble her.”

Doubting about his words, a bit awake, I told him “Well, I can help you. But I have one condition.”
“Ok, thanks so much! What is the condition?”
He was very happy.

“I know you didn’t attend youth gathering in KK. I want you to come to the Youth Cell in ASC every Saturday evening.”
Ah? This… I can’t promise this.”
He murmured.

“Well, I care for your relationship with God even more. I can lend money to you. Yet you need to fix back your relationship with God. In fact, even if I don’t lend you the money, you should come to Youth Cell too.”
“Jack, this is complicated. I do not know how to say to you.”
He felt very nervous.

“Ya! You are right. About borrowing money, you are very clear. About God, you are very blur.”
I started to feel more annoyed, especially in a tiring mood.

“No. It is not what you think. Because…” He tried to think of a reason.

“I hope you come back to God. Truly speaking, you SHOULD return to God.”

When we have our needs, we will kick God away. When we are in need, we will come to God. I tell you the truth, God will feel exactly on how I felt about Renee. I wanna say that our relationship with God is very precious. Do not lose it; otherwise, God will turn away from you. Whatever you pray to God, He will not listen. Whatever you do for God, He will not accept.

Readers, God is NOT our toy or ATM machine. He is our Heavenly Father who loves us the most. He is our God who sent His only Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins. Do not break His heart. Start to build your relationship intimately with God. Reconcile with God once again. He is waiting for us to enter into His embrace.

1 Corinthians 8:3
"But the man who loves God is known by God."

By the way, do you think I should lend Renee the money? (If you were me, will you lend?)

Chapter 73: History Exam

Rushing to the class of History of Christianity; waiting for Dr Scott Sunquist to start prayer; seeing the rest of students entering the class; sitting down and massaging my eyes (going to fall asleep); looking at my phone, it showed 6:50PM. Every Monday, Thursday and Friday in Semester 2 are really whole tiring days for me. The class started from 7:40am to 10pm. I do not have time to cook and eat my meals. Ha ha ha… Maggi has been my best companion for this semester. Praise God for Maggi.

When all students were in the class, Dr Sunquist smiled to us and said “Your mid-term exam will be on 27 July which is on Monday.”

A Lecturer from America - Dr Scott Sunquist

Everyone, including me with a tired face, was alarmed. History of Christianity is really not an easy subject. I really respect Dr Sunquist. He is a man who truly understands the heart of Mission. Somehow I was stirred by his knowledge and enthusiasm when he shared about missions from the Holy Bible. I believe I will learn more from him and gain wisdom on how to operate my heart of mission. Once again, I am even more convicted to the vision which God has shown to me.

Well, back to my study. This subject really trains me on reading discipline. I have History classes almost every night. I will need to read two chapters from each class. Each chapter consists of 50 pages.

I have three intensive courses which are very critical on July and August: History of Christianity, Missiology & Evangelism, and Homiletics. These subjects need me to read daily. Each day, I will need to spend at least half a day to do readings.

Altogether, at least 250 pages per day.
Within a week, at least 1000 pages!!!

CRAZY AH?!

Readers, the mid-term exam (History of Christianity) covers 14 chapters. I know I surely gain understandings and increase my knowledge on Kingdom of God.

By the way, wish me happy reading for this semester.

Chapter 72: The Filipino Children

Today, I followed a group of STS students to a place called Grace & Mercy Community, BCCM Grace Centre (Tuition & Charity Center).

STS Students in Field Education

We were told that this center is only 3 years old. It used to be a place to train Karate. Then BCCM bought it to establish a Christian education centre.

BCCM, Grace Centre

As they introduced their ministry and education, I was actually surprised that this centre was built to serve the children who were illegal immigrants. We even went around the place including classrooms. While I entered one of the classrooms, I saw the pictures of the Filipinos children. It began to remind me about my Myanmar mission during 2002. I miss those tribal people. I used to serve them and share Jesus to them. Many turned back to Jesus and I rejoiced during that year.

Illegal Filipino Children

I really can see that God really loves everyone. The races which we may not trust, we may not love, we may not even want to get near with, God also loves them. The people who are poor, ugly, disabled, problematicGod loves them all. The Filipino children whom we think they are “dirty”, they are thieves, they are homeless, they are very irritated, they are very troublesome, they are dangerous, just because they are uneducated and hanging around the streets, God loves them still. Therefore, God sent these BCCM Christians to serve and love them.

I remember last year, when I was in Tawau with a youth. As we finished our supper in Ingat Restaurant, we walked back to St Patrick’s Church. Then we saw a group of Filipinos hanging around in the dark corner. This youth said, “I really hate Filipinos. They are unclean. They should return back to their own country.”

I replied, “These people are also loved by God.”

The youth looked at me, saying that, “Among all my Christians friends, you are the first one who said this to me. My friends never think that Filipino are to be loved.”

I smiled back to him. Then he said
“I think I should love the Filipinos too.”

I felt that the workers who worked in Grace Centre really sacrifice their time to serve the Filipino children. I really appreciated their love for these poor Filipino children. They went out to find them to share Jesus, and provide education for them.

God, You are indeed LOVE.

John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Chapter 71: Hidden Sin

Jack, are you in the church?”
“Yes, anything?”

“Jack, I got something urgent to talk to you.”
“Ok. Come to the church.”

I brought my youth to Fook Yuen, Asia City. I prepared myself to answer any questions from him. He started, “Well, I thought my friend is a good guy. However, I am very shocked to know this news.”

He continued, after a hesitation
“He made a girl pregnant.”

Quiet for a moment, I replied, “Hmm… well, anything could happen, my friend.”
“But he is a good guy! Well, he’s not a Christian. I thought he will not do such a thing.”

“Ok, tell me what happened.”
“He wants to abort the child. And that girl does not to do so. She wanna keep the baby.”

“It is not right to abort a child. This is an act of Murder.”
I exclaimed.
“But he does not want to let his parents know about this. If his parents know this, he will be banished from home. And the girl does not want to lose this child. Now he does not know what to do.”

“Well, this is indeed a hard case. He needs to be responsible for what he had done.”
“Jack, what should I do? He even asked me for a solution. I am really worried about my friend.”

He looked troubled. At that time, I was looking at the breads on the table. (Very tempting...) Without hesitation, grabbing one piece of bread, bit it, and said, “Well, I have only one solution.”

“What is it?”
looking at me, with full of hope.
“Tell the truth to his parents.”

WHAT?! You sure?”
He looked astonished!

Consider this if he chooses to hide his sins.
First, Will the whole world including his parents not know about this truth when the girl’s pregnancy is growing?
Second, even if the girl agrees to abort the child, when can they get a surgery?
Third, even if a doctor agrees to operate abortion, how much does he need to pay?
Fourth, even if he really got the money, where does the money come from?
Fifth, if it is from his friends, how long did he need to take in order to return?
Sixth, if he has no ability to return the money, will his friends find his parents?
Seventh, if his parents know that he owned people money, would they not ask why?
Last, if his parents are the last one to know, he will really face the WORST consequence."

My youth looked at me for a long period, wondering…
Hence, I concluded, Confess his sin to his parents, and he shall be set free from living in lies."

He was impressed, saying “I guess this is true. I never thought the consequence will be that bad if he was only trying to hide a sin. I believe this is the only way. Though his parents will be angry with him, yet true enough, he will not be banished from his house; unless his parents found out by themselves.”

I added, “Listen to me. Advice your good friend to confess this to his parents before thing gets worse.

Readers, this is the consequence if we fall into sin. We ought to be responsible for what we have done. Whether it is good or bad, God is watching us. Even if we can hide our sins from the whole world, God will always know. The more we cover our sins, the more troubles we will face. Just like the story of King David and Bathsheba. The hidden sin will haunt us for a long period of time, maybe even forever. We may struggle in our own hidden sin for the rest of our life.

1 John 1:9
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

Chapter 70: She said, “I will finish it!”

Last Sunday, a girl wept in front of me.

“Are you ok?”
She remained silent for a long period.

Touching her head, and encouraging her,
“Girl, you will be fine, ok?”
“I don’t think I can be able to finish my final project. It is very important. I am much stressed..”

After saying that, I felt her heart was full of pressure. I can understand why she felt that. That is her last year of college study. No matter what, she needs to get her degree by the end of this year.

“Well, tell me what you are stuck in project. Perhaps I can guide you and give you some advice. I used to study in college before. At least I know how to do a project.”

“I also don’t know. I just can’t do it. I am scared.”

“Don’t think like that. Ok? We still can pray. God will not leave you forsaken. Ask God to give you wisdom. Well, if you need me to help you, just give me a call. I will show you the way.”

She nodded her head, tears kept rolling down her cheek.

Last Monday, I SMS her, “So how is your assignment going on?”
“I am glad that the teacher is willing to give me some comments on how to do the project.”

GREAT! So you know where you are going now? You started your project already?”

“Ya! Thanks for encouraging and praying for me. Now I know where to start. I will finish it!”

Readers, this is the life which we are facing all the times. Human beings are weird. Before we start to do anything, we always doubt. We always give lots of stupid excuses “What if..? What if…?” We always say “This is hard!” or “I guess this is risky.” We even suspect our own strength whether we can do it or not. Many people love to say, “I don’t know. I don’t know.” so that they can avoid themselves from facing their life issues. Not only ridiculous, This is STUPIDITY too.

Hello! There are many of our things which are left undone. Many people choose to leave it and never dare to face it. All they know is stuck there and doing nothing. People always love to give reasons which will hinder them from reaching their own goal. In the end, when the matter is over, they will start to say something stupid.

However, take a look at this girl. After prayer and encouragement, she woke up from chaos. What did she do? Of course, God is with her, helping her. But she also ACTS! She went to find her lecturer. And now she is very happy. She even gains confidence in what she needs to do. The joyous thing is...

she said, “I will finish it!”

As for me, will I leave God’s vision which is given to me undone? Will I abandon my goal and my desire which bring greater glory of God? Will I choose to give excuses and run away from it? Will I say, "I don't know what to do. I feel like I wanna give up."?

Absolutely NO!
I tell you this, in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, I will conquer my dream.

Psalms 37:5
"Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this:"

Chapter 69: Optimus Prime's Vision

“Transformers 2” is really a good movie. I am a person who loves to see the animated actions. I believe it is because I am also a kind of “multimedia” guy. I kept wondering how the video editor managed to make the animation so wonderfully. It is very impressive.

I watched it with a group of Christians. Some said it was very boring; some say it was terrific. Well, different people, different taste.
To me, 5 stars for this movie.

Readers, we can learn one thing from this movie – Pursue of vision. Optimus Prime chose his path to protect the humans. That was his vision. When Sam made a wrong decision, it, in fact, turned the whole situation into the worst scenario. Optimus Prime was destroyed just because he wanted to save Sam. Did he know he will be destroyed? Did he know he will be revived again? Did he know that he will rise and the enemy falls?

All he knew is that he pursued his own vision. Even when the human leader asked the Autobots to leave the earth, Optimus Prime still chose to stay; he did not listen to the human leader. Though he was rejected and discouraged, he still stayed strong in his own vision. “What if you are wrong, when we leave?” Frankly speaking, many people will easily give up on their goals when some people started to say something and decide on their future.

This is very true. After our decision was final, we do not know what kind of consequence we will face. We cannot see our future. However, we must believe in faith that we made a right decision, and there is no turning back. People always choose our life path for us. People will say, “This is good for you," or "That is good for you.”

Is that what you want? I was thinking,

“Aren’t we supposed to decide our path by ourselves, instead of others choosing for us?”

Readers, our life is in God’s hand. However, it is also in our hands. We always say, “Let God guide us.” and live dully after that. In fact, we did not let God handle our life. It is the people around us who make the decisions for us. God wants us to plan for our future. He has given us a vision. And this vision is God’s plan for us. Not everyone will agree with your vision, only you yourself and God will understand. When we are ready to claim His vision, He will promise to fulfill what He has given us. But,
do you dare to step out the challenge and claim His promise? Or you would follow what the people choose for you?

I believe those who read this post will understand what I am trying to say. I am not promoting LAWLESSNESS. Do not do anything which sins against God. That’s never God’s vision for you. Pray to Holy Spirit and God will reveal His ultimate purpose for you in your life. Your vision should not contradict the Scriptures. Jesus Christ teaches us that whatever the Father told Him to do, He will do.

God has given me a vision. And I have promised God that I will do it. I wanna claim my vision from God. I wanna be successful. I wanna be famous. I do not want to be ordinary person. I do not wanna to be a guy who does his same task daily. This is meaningless to me. I am ready to face the world. I know people will not understand and they will think I choose my path wrongly. However, they will understand me one day. One day, they will see the Glory of God.

No doubt, this is my goal.

God will lift me up. Raise me up, God.

Acts 2:17
" 'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams."

Chapter 68: This is Your Body

Last Saturday, we were having an ice breaker in the youth ministry; it is to use the fun clay and make some shapes.

When we were doing the shapes, I noticed that my youth were having a lot of fun. I could see their happy expression and their excited voice,

“Ha ha ha… This is our dog?!”
“For an elephant, you make the hands, you make the legs, you make the body, and I will make the head.”

Is this a fish? Horror Movie!

“Hey! The eyes of the fish are dropping out! How can the fin be like that? Wow! Mouth so big?”

There were much laughter in the game, and I could feel the joy in them. I felt very happy when they were having a good fellowship. They kept on redoing the body parts when they found that it was inappropriate. As they started to make faces, I started to think the creation of God – human.

Our creation of Face, Dog and Elephant

Genesis 1:27, 2:7
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them… The LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”

We used fun clay to make shapes; God used dust to form the first human. Isn’t it quite similar? When we were making the shapes, we were full of excitement and enthusiasm. I wonder when God first made man, how did He feel? I believe God must be very happy and excited about his first human creation.

When we made the shapes, it looked awkward. However, take a look at ourselves.

What a wonderful design of God!!

With everything which is so systematic and functional, inside and outside of the body, no one can ever make this wonderful creation except God.

All of us were given a body. God wants us to cherish our own body. Take good care of it. Your body is unique because it belongs to you alone. Do not do stupid things to hurt your body (e.g. cutting yourself, eating drug…etc). Do not use your body to sin (e.g. fighting, murdering…etc). If you love God, you will love his creation. Nevertheless, you will love your own body as well.

Into the potter's hand, I give my life

Readers, appreciate God’s gift in your life -

This is Your Body.

Be healthy and strong at all times. Remember Jesus Christ loves us; He has redeemed us.
We ought to love ourselves including our body.
Honor God with our body.

1 Corinthians 6:20
“you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.”

Chapter 67: Choices

Last Sunday, I went to Centerpoint to meet a girl. But in the end, she did not come to meet me. I was like... Hey! She is the one who called me on last Saturday and asked me out. (Wow! I guess she is afraid to meet me.)

However, this is not the story I wanna share with you. Here it goes...

A SMS from another girl came...
"Jack! Come save me!"
"Where are you, girl?"
"I am in Palm Square. I am very moody. I am ditched."
"Ah? You are alone right now?"
"Ya! My sister left me alone."

When I found her, her face was very depressed. "Are you ok?"
"No... I am seriously not."
"Alright, tell me what's going on."

We were sitting in the Secret Recipe and she started to explain the whole matter. After the conversation, I found out that it was so sad to know that her sister is a lesbian! I was shocked to hear that. Her sister went to find her partner so she was left alone.

Then suddenly the mother of this girl called and found out that we were in Secret Recipe.

"Hey! Mama! This is the guy whom I used to tell you, he is a nice guy!"
Feeling shy, "Hi, Aunt. Nice meeting you."

"Jack? Oh! I have seen your picture before."

Smiling back to me.

Then her mama was very depressed too. She was sitting on the sofa, putting her hand under her chin, saying, "This daughter really gives me a great shock."

The talk continued for another hour. She kept on talking and complaining. I did not remember the whole conversation. However, it stroked me when the mother said this,

"Why is God so unfair to me? Did I do anything wrong in my life? I had done everything nicely in this world. And is this how God repays me by giving me a daughter who turned into LESBIAN? That is why I am so disappointed about God. I do not trust in God anymore. I would rather trust in myself. It is so hard to depend on God again.
Look! What is this?"

Both mother and daughter were very sad. I was sitting there, remained silent for a moment. Then I began to speak, "Aunt, be strong, ok? I understand how you feel. You are a great mother. Well, where is your daughter (lesbian) right now?"

"Forget about her. I am very tired to know about her things."

Readers, God gives us choice due to our freedom. I was wondering most of the things which happened badly... It's nothing to do with God. It is our own choice to turn ourselves into misery. It does not only affect our own selves, we also affect others (i.e. our family, friends, and strangers). As a daughter turned into lesbian, it does not only affect her status, it will also affect her family's status, friends' and strangers'. How would people think about her family? How would people say about her friends? The strangers may even learn to "be themselves" from this lesbian and do not care about others. This is the consequence when we make the wrong choices.

God will not make us disappointed. He does give us a choice: lay your life down for God? If yes, may God bless you. You will be safe in His mighty hands.
If no, may God have mercy on you. You will be all on your own. No one to blame.

1 Corinthians 8:9
"Be careful, however, that the exercise of your freedom does not become a stumbling block to the weak."

Lastly, the mother said, "Jack, I love to talk to you because you understand how auntie feel. Next time I will find you to yam cha with you. Ok?"
